“TUNA 2012, the 12th INFOFISH World Tuna Trade Conference & Exhibition, held at the Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, concluded on 26 May 2012. The two and a half day event became the venue for the Tuna Industry to share and exchange information. An introduction was given by the Conference Chairperson, In-Soo Cho, President & CEO of Starkist Co, USA. He discussed the opportunities and challenges the tuna industry is facing and what to expect in the future. Because of emerging economies, there is an opportunity for market growth. While the tuna resource is believed to be renewable, the challenge lies in how to maintain it in the most sustainable manner.”
